I was introduced to yoga as a child by my mother and through her influence became involved in the holistic health field as a young adult. In private practice in natural skin care and gentle bodywork for over 25 years, yoga became a natural adjunct to healthy living.
Originally trained as a teacher through the Sivananda organization, I continued my studies in this field with esteemed yoga and meditation teachers over the years.
I owned and operated The Lotus Centre, a vibrant yoga studio in London Ontario with my beloved husband David Prentice for 10 years. During these years, I taught yoga for the public and for specialized groups such as pre/postnatal, runners and to those living with cancer. In addition, I co-directed and co-facilitated a teacher training program.
This naturally led me to my teachers Todd Norian and Ann Greene. I completed their teacher training program in 2008. I continue to study and train with Todd and Ann in their system now called Ashaya Yoga.
I feel deep gratitude for the many teachers I have had in my lifetime and to the Kula – community of the heart. It is an honour to continue to teach yoga in the London community at Spanda Yoga Centre, to those living with cancer at Wellspring London and in the sacred vessel of retreat with my colleague Catherine Heighway of Spanda Retreats. The greatest teaching of yoga is learning to accept and ride the wave of the pulsation of life and then respond with love. I continue to be inspired by the transformational power of yoga!
